If you are not yet sure that your marriage has irretrievably broken down, you may wish to consider marriage counselling. The main provider of marriage counselling services is Relate. Other marriage counselling services are available, and we can help you to find a service that can help you and your spouse. When couples decide to separate or to divorce, it will be a difficult time, with heightened emotions and anxieties for all concerned. At the very time when important choices and decisions need to be made, these feelings may make it difficult to see things clearly

At the Worcester Family Law Practice we can refer you to an independent counsellor in your area Meetings are confidential and all counsellors are experienced in helping with difficulties arising from separation and divorce. Some counsellors also have experience in working with children and young people. All counsellors must comply with the ethical frameworks of their professional organizations.
If you would like to know more, ask us and we will be happy to help you find an appropriate counsellor Another service that parents find helpful is the 'Relate for Parents' services offered by Relate Worcester – this service helps parents to understand the effects that their divorce or separation is likely to have upon their children. When parents make plans for future parenting arrangements, they can take account of the understanding that their ‘Relate for Parents’ counsellor has given them. Leaflets describing this service are available from The Worcester Family Law Practice.
Following the introduction of Collaborative Family Law to the United Kingdom, a number of Counsellors and Therapists have trained as Divorce Coaches. Although divorce coaching has been introduced as an integral part of the Collaborative process, Divorce Coaches are able to help all those going through divorce or separation. The role of a Divorce Coach is to help the family member to understand how the divorce process will affect them and to help equip them to deal with the difficulties that can arise. There are trained Divorce Coaches practising in Worcestershire to whom we are able to refer clients.
